My Final Music Video

My final music video was done on Adobe Premiere pro. I did this on this to make it look professional and look like it is an actual music video. Adobe premiere pro is high quality and enabled me to edit my clips together, and gave me a range of different effects for me to use to get the best out of my video. Below are some screenshots of the editing process, and underneath that is my final music video.

Filming; Day Two

I managed to get the rest of my filming done today, I got both of my actors' parts filmed and will now be able to start editing all of my music video together. The weather was good again, which fit what I wanted and was able to get what I needed. Successful day of filming. Below is a picture of both of my actors together.

Filming; Day One

Day one of filming was successful as I got the main parts of my music video. I filmed the miming parts, and the solo parts that the male artist has in my music video. The weather was good also, which is what I wanted for my music video. Although I had got the majority of my filming done, I still had some to do so I will rebook the camera out. Below is a picture that I took of the camera and tripod that I used

Planning; Casting

In my music video, I have 2 characters. One is a boy and one is a girl. They are in a relationship, so I will hopefully be looking for either 2 people who are actually together, or two good actors who can make it look like they are together. This is important because it is the plot of my music video, so I need to ensure that the audience can believe it. The male character is the main character as the song is by a male artist.

Male Actor; As my artist is male, it is very important that I have a good, confident actor to get the best from my music video.

Martin Prowse;
Martin was a Drama student so he would be very suitable for the role as he would be confident in front of the camera.

Deet Bains;
Deet is currently a Media student so would be a good choice, but due to other priorities he may not be available most of the time.

Josh Thorley;
Josh is also currently a Media student so because of that he may be a good chance, but he isn't very confident so he may not seem comfortable in front of the camera.

Martin Prowse is my chosen actor. This is because he studied drama and is confident in front of the camera, so I believe that he is the best possible choice.

Female Actor; The female actor isn't as important, but to get the best from my music video they will need to be a good actor and be believable.

Mariella Ralph;
Mariella is currently a Year 12 Media student so would be a good choice because she knows what it takes, and is comfortable and confident in front of the camera.

Katy Lewis;
Katy is a media student so would be a good choice, but isn't very comfortable in front of the camera so wouldn't be a good choice.

Ava Markie;
Ava is currently a media student so she would be a good choice, but when I need her to film she has other priorities so will not be able to play.

Mariella Ralph is my chosen actor. This is because she studies media currently and is confident in front of the camera, so therefore she is the best possible choice.

Planning; Equipment Planning

In order for my music video to be professional, I will need some good equipment to be able to do so.

One thing I will need is a HD Quality Camera.
I will use a high quality camera to film my music video. I need the camera to be of a high quality so my shots look good and so my video looks like it is done in a professional way, instead of amateur. A high quality camera will give me crisp shots and enable me to use an exposure and focus lock, which will make my video look even more professional.

TALK ABOUT CHOSEN CAMERA HERE.

Tripod
The use of a tripod will enable me to take still and steady shots which will make my video look professional. If I wasn't to use a tripod, my shots would be shaky and it will look like an amateur production. I have used a tripod before, so I know how to use it efficiently and will not need to research in to how to use one effectively. Accessing a tripod would be fairly easy because I can borrow it from the school's media department meaning there are not any great difficulties to get hold of one.

Steadicam
Using a steadicam will enable me to balance our the proportions of the camera so I will be able to get a steady shot, to ensure that my shots look professional. The reason I will use a steadicam is so I will get great, steady shots to ensure my video doesn't look like an amateur production. Again, I am able to borrow this piece of equipment from the school's media department so there wouldn't be any real difficulties in getting hold of this piece of equipment.

Planning; Props

Props can be very important to any video if they are used in a good way.

For my music video, I am doing a break up video so I believe the use of a mobile phone could help. I could have the male character texting or calling the female character, as I feel this may be able to help the point of the story come across better to the audience. I believe that a mobile phone would be a good prop to use in my music video because it is a common thing that people use, so it will come across to the target audience.

Planning; Mise-en-scene

Mise-en-scene is a very important part of planning.

Costume;
The costume, as previously mentioned, will be a casual look. This will include the artist wearing jeans, a casual t-shirt and jeans. The casual look will be taken for the female character as well, as this is how I want both characters to look.

Props;
I haven't got any confirmed ideas about any props, but I have thought about using a mobile phone. This would be for the male character to text the female character.
